After no one responds to the SOS messages and bizarre events start to occur, the students conclude that the island is not of their world, but rather, a part of another dimension. The school constantly regenerates, meaning that the teens have an endless supply of food and broken things repair themselves.

However, the students are upset to find out that many things are spontaneously engulfed by blue flames. Unable to explain the phenomenon, the students look for a scapegoat. After a misunderstanding, they find it in the face of Mizuho, a reclusive girl who keeps to herself and spends her days taking care of her cats. Mizuho is unable to defend herself, but by the end of the episode, Nozomi and Nagara visit her and gain her trust.

Eventually, Mizuho admits to being responsible for other supernatural events but not for the fires. Rajdhani, a clever student, concludes that the island itself sets things on fire when the students take them without paying for them. In response, he sets up an app that allows students to pay for their exchanges.

Mizuho warms up to Nagara, while Nozomi realizes that, after all, she has a superpower; the ability to navigate and understand her surroundings in a way others do not.

Sonny creator Krin Juangbhanich announced in production had started on Sonny 3 , which was followed by a long period of relative silence about the title's status.
