What is the difference between tire brands

A good rule of them to remember is, if their made in Taiwan their Junk, and if their made in Japan their much better. Not always true but for the most part is. This is confusing too, because there are really only OEM's, companies just rebrand the disc's and sell them as their own. You have to actually do research to see if what your getting is good or not. So in that sense, yes - like most everything in the world, everything is made by someone and simply rebranded. This is true for tires as with anything else.

But it doesn't necessarily mean that the brand you got was the same as the brand you had. It just depends. I just thought about that. LoL, oh wow. Just wow. My questions is: Besides the threading style, is there a difference in size of the tires??. Originally posted by: iamwiz82 What are you referring to as the model number? AmdEmAll Diamond Member. Aug 27, 6, 2 Winter tires offer so much of an advantage in the snow that you should consider them mandatory if you live anywhere with more than occasional snowfall.

With rubber compounds that stay soft at low temperatures and tread designs that hold snow because snow-on-snow offers better traction than rubber-on-snow , winter tires can transform your car.

The difference is pronounced. That could be a lot harder with an aftermarket wheel, which might have gone out of production since you bought your set. One other note: You can order an extra set of the tire-pressure-monitoring sensors that go inside the wheels, if your car has a TPMS system.

But if you can live with a lit dashboard warning light for the winter and no insight from your car regarding tire pressures , you can save money and skip the sensors on your winter rubber. The short answer? If your tires regularly touch dirt and the terrain is rougher than an unpaved road, you might.

Aggressive all-terrain or mud-terrain off-road tires can really boost traction. That open-spaced, deep-lug tread design will slough off mud as soon as you hit the throttle, pulling you right through the slop.

And on rocks and loose dirt, those big tread blocks grip the trail where a milder tire would just slip and spin, perhaps leaving you stuck. Are there drawbacks? Yes indeed. First, off-road tires are noisy. Vogue is an American tire manufacturer. Many people choose these on vintage cars to pair with a flashy rim.

These tires are all aesthetics and the tire choice for celebrities like Snoop Dogg on his flashy Fleetwood Cadillac. They are an expensive choice, which is also due to the fact the some models like Vogue Radials have Kevlar integrated into them. These tires are not built for high mileage, traction, or everyday driving. These are show room tires that make a statement of luxury.

Since these tires are so expensive used Vogue tires are highly sought out in the secondary markets. In my opinion technically no. As long as you are using a tire, that meets your needs, you are good. Any of the large tire manufacturers like Bridgestone, Michelin, Goodyear, or Continental are gonna give you a high quality safe tire. They are all great choices. I believe the tire brand does make a difference.

Tires are expensive, some what because of brand advertising and name recognition, but also because of technology and engineering. This means safety. As you can see all the top tire brands have a lot in common. Some though are geared for the average driver while others specialize in vehicle types, seasons, or terrains.

While I reference consumer reports here, do bear in mind, that this is where people go to say negative things and not many nice things. Every tire manufacturer has complaints about blowouts and tread wear. This being a used tire blog , no one appreciates a long lasting tire more then us. We love finding the top tire brands on the secondary market and looking for value. If you are considering a premium tire, look for brands known for longevity in tread life.

I used to use bridgestone until I had two flatspots on two separate occasions, once in an exited ramp during a spirited exit. Have rolled on Khumo ever since. They aren't as good in the rain as the bridgestones but they last longer. The reviews on tire rack as spot on, I base my purchasing on them.

FWIW I get all seasons. I used to roll on summer tires but got tired of paying huge money for low miles. And the summer tires were scary in snow. Yeah I had summer tires in snow with rear wheel. Not fun. Gonna just pony up and get Michelin. Talked with my neighbor too who owns a shop and he also said its worth it. He's gonna install them for me too. I typically am driving fast and passing people in the left lane. I'll usually be going 80 on I95 which is 65 speed limit. But a lot of people are going that speed, I'm not the only one going that fast.

It's the flow of traffic. I'd say I drive pretty aggressive though as far as I enjoy taking turns kinda quickly since my car can handle it. I like to accelerate pretty quick from a stop too, just because it's fun with manual lol. But I'm not too sure what exactly you mean by "driving habit" to be honest, if it's more than I explained up above.

Mar 11, 32 91 tweak3d. You get what you pay for. But everything from braking performance, stability, low speed traction and similar weather traction is effected.

Just make sure you get something comparable. Reactions: exar Feb 7, 8, 8 Midwayman Diamond Member. Jan 28, 5,
